Under Søcialism does the state/community come before people & individual freedom?

I’m looking for more than a yes/no answer.
Please explain why or why not. Thanks!
Sure does.
Under socialism everything you make belongs to the state, you are not rewarded by your labor.
The individual is just a part of the state machine. You are not special and all your labors don’t benefit you unless the state decides to reward you.

Yes. Socialism tramples the individual.
To support it would be like saying im too stupid to make decisions myself.

You’re confusing the social order of Communism with the theoretical of Socialism, which has never existed in a pure form, just like there has never been a purely "Free Market," despite the ravings of Republicans.

no. in socialism people come before profit. as socialists we believe the state, as voted for by the people, should act to serve the people. for any country or system to work, there has to be a collective effort – socialism places a focus on community, working together towards a common good.
nutters like Stalin got this a little confused. ‘true’ socialism is all about people, but like capitalism it is also open to abuse whereby those with power serve their own interests.
hope this helps

Sure, why not. Under capitalism, individual tyranny of private corporations and businesses comes before community needs and the needs of any competing individual

By the way, ideologies are dumb as hell. And to that other answerer–as a matter of fact people are too dumb to make important decisions for themselves

Yes because in socialism you are told what your job is. You are just another person in the system. This is why I don’t Understand how so many people worship this system. A vote for socialism is a vote against freedom

Well first of all the state wouldn’t exist. And community freedom will benefit individuals.

Socialism is a type of economic theory where government owns the means of production for industries and general production. Communism is where the state owns property and individual rights do not exist and religion is outlawed.
Most European countries are Socialist by economic theory and have democratic systems. (Parliament, Bicameral legislature, etc) Think of France, Germany, Spain and the Uk.
Under most countries, community and the well being of the state and population and populations general welfare if the need really arises. France has a stronger executive branch and is on its Fifth Republic.( Facist Italy was like that too, but in an severely extreme sense where individual liberty did not matter and the only thing that mattered was the nation. but that was another time.)
Think of the United States Patriot Act as a domestic example. Or when President Lincoln suspended Habeus Corpus during the midst of the Civil War for domestic security.
Its essential to protect a larger portion of the population from harm, if at the cost at some infringement of some rights. Nations can apoligize later.
Some American politicians who advocate for saftey and security of the American people have advocated ignoring certain privacy rights for communal protection and national security. I’m not sure which American party is big on defense and military.
So to your answer, Yes, but it does apply to other countries as well in a time of crisis.
