Why is Islam opposed to freedom and human rights?

Would true liberty and democracy bring about the end of Islam, like a thick fog melting away under the sun?

I enjoy personal freedom and individual liberties, but we cannot impose our democratic system to another country. Let them be.

    You got it!
Islam is all about submission. And submission to what?
Submission to total civic, cultural, ethnic and religious doctrines under the guise of Allah.
There is only one God and that is not the "moon god" which Mohammad worshiped as a child and young man. He waged war in 7th Century Arabia to "kill off" the other 364 "gods" that were already in place within the Kaaba in Meeca. He had the power to overthrow all other belief systems and place his one god as the only god.
Why do you think there is a crescent moon on top of every mosque? And why is there a black stone inside the Kaaba that every Muslim is supposed to worship?
Take a little time and do the research into 7th Century Arabia and you will find out the truth of who Muhammad really was.
There will never be freedom as long as submission rules.

Well, you assumed that Islam opposed the freedom and you ask why?
but a more liberal question can be:
Does Islam oppose human right and freedom of speech?

Let me ask you to mention one single country that has an absolute freedom of speech?!,, one country!
before answering, i want to mention that this country should allow anyone to think and publish his or her thoughts freely,,
like racial discrimination, new Nazi, questioning the number of deaths during the holocaust or questioning the holocaust itself!,, encouraging suicide, revealing government secrets,,, etc,,,

can you tell me if Islam burned scientists as churches did in dark ages?
Do you know that a lot of books are banned in USA and most world countries nowadays??

an absolute freedom of speech is a myth!,,
you know what free civilized "western" governments do with holocaust deniers..
so, each country and couture has its "limits" or red zones,, to maintain public security and respect the beliefs of the community (i can’t annoy a cow in the streets of india for example).
