With the United States' freedom of religion, you should legally be able to display any symbol of religious or non religious belief, as long as you aren't promoting what could be perceived as hatred or discrimination against others.

Unfortunately, as far as this nation has drifted from God, a person has the right to do just about anything that they choose; even things that are wrong. I pray that if you do not believe in God, that you will take a second thought. For He truly exists, and He loves you more than you could ever imagine. This nation is on the verge of collapse, and mainly because we have denied Jesus Christ to be the God of this nation as we used to do. The only hope for this nation is to turn back to God with all of our hearts, and repent of sin, and allow Him to be in control of this nation once again. God is mighty tired of having to put up with what He has had to put up with in the U.S.A. Let us always be thankful unto Him for his divine mercy, grace, love, and forgiveness. If you do not believe upon Him, I pray that you will get on your knees before Him even this day, and repent of sin, and allow Him to save your soul.

On public property meaning state or federal government owned property, no, neither is allowed. On your own private property? Yes as long as it could not be construed as a pornographic or vile by social or racist standards.

It depends on what you mean by "public places." Everyone has the right to display religious symbols on their own property – in the windows of their home, or on their front lawn. Religious symbols can be displayed in other places that might be considered public, such as in or around business establishments. Religious symbols can even be displayed on public government property which is used as a public forum for expression, such as a public bulletin board, or even possibly a public park or beach.

However, religious symbols cannot be displayed on public property that is considered a closed forum to public expression – such as in government buildings or on the lawn in front of courthouses, unless those religious symbols are arranged in a way that they do not endorse one particular religion over others (e.g., a nativity scene in front of the courthouse would not be permissible, but a christmas tree next to a menorah, along with a statute of buddha and Vishnu, and a Muslim moon symbol, all arranged together, might be ok).

So, deal with all the religious icons, which, by definition, excludes
anti-religious icons.

If your locality allows access to public property for religious purposes then they must allow the same access for all religious and non or anti religious viewpoints. That is recognized by the Supreme court. That said, being a "Test Case Dummy" for atheism might do more harm than good for your cause. A wise general knows to pick her battles and to avoid Pyrrhic Victories.
