Do you think the staff at Yahoo is qualified to censor our freedom of speech rights?

Is this ilegal?
By the way there are no misspelling errors here.
The Internet is public communication, so I say it is a violation of our 1st amendment and freedom of speech. There just hasn’t been enough people to exercise their right to petition yet. When that happens, yahoo will drop the board, just like they did the one to discuss the news.

This is a private board, and by signing up, you agree to abide by their decisions about what’s allowed and what isn’t.
It’s 100% legal.

It is just a word-search macro. The fun is in trying to trick it.

My answer is no and they have already taken one of my answers off of here today and docked me 10 points.

First of all, it’s community moderated. Secondly, it’s their site, they can make the rules. When you buy your own server, you can control what’s said on it.

It took 6 tries to get this question posted…why??
Why do more Democrats not believe this is a nation of liberty & justice?
as reported by the Rasmussen Report, whereas Republicans overwhelmingly believe this to be true, 75% versus 34% of Democrats.

No, they are not qualified. The company they work for happens to be privately owned so obviously they can do it at will.
@Ashamed(above) – Sad, but I believe there are a couple of groups that have been doing that. Notably in the Religion forum. I would not be at all surprised if the Obama crowd didn’t have at least one group doing that also.

No it’s not illegal….
BUT…. Coming from a company that gave a communist country information to arrest people who spoke their minds, it doesn’t surprise me.
Yahoo wished the US was more like China so they could have people that speak out against Obama arrested. That is probably a wet dream for them.

It’s legal because they are a private company. If you are in a restaurant talking real loud and swearing they have the right to throw you out.

It depends whether it is a preference for one candidate over the other or if it is a legitimate claim. I have had questiojns removed. The reason given was that I did not answer the question. However, in reality, the question was the first thing answered with a Yes or a No. Then, I supported my answers. It really depends on whether or not the person who removes them is educated or not. I mean, really, how difficult is it to understand that Yes or No are answers?

They are, because you do not have free speech rights in a private domain. You agreed to terms of service when you signed up for this site and they are well within their rights at Yahoo! to terminate your access if you violate that agreement.
The law is fully on Yahoo!’s side, maybe you should consider taking responsibility for your actions instead of complaining.
