Army veterans or soldiers: Is it true they are fighting for my freedom and rights each and every day?

I am talking about US veterans and soldiers. Are they fighting for America every day?
Our service is the one thing that stands between your freedom and incursions by enemies bent on America’s destruction. Without a powerful standing military, others would be emboldened to attack us.

yep
they are directed in how to acomplish that by the president and chain of command
and sometimes those directions are muddled and ineffective
but that is exactly what they are doing and what they are there for

Yes. They put their life on the line every day. While they may not be shooting every day, every second they are out there overseas they are risking their life to protect your freedom. If they weren’t there, the terrorists would be bringing the fight to us. If you need an example of that, just think about 9/11.

I think that every soldier and veteran will answer you a bit different. That’s because each of us chose to join for some reason. Even the people naive enough to think they’re simply doing it for the money or college fund discover that there’s more to themselves and their service than that.
I was never delusional enough during my service to think that our country is perfect, but I always kept in mind that my service enables people back home to enjoy the freedoms that our service has helped keep secure.
I retired a few years ago, but still work with the military, and still feel like I’m doing my part, no matter how small, to help secure the freedom of our country and her people.
