What exactly is the definition of…freedom? What makes America more of a free nation than other countries? Are you free from obnoxious, greedy lawyers and prosecutors? Are you free from federal agents that are trained not to even trust their own people? Are you free from corporate tyranny?
What are some other funny Republican myths?

Nobody said our country was perfect. However why don’t you tell me which country is better than the US?
I agree with ""It is easy to get out of poverty in America compared to China, where it could take 10 generations!" Anyone with enough will and inner strength can do it. The Government has student loans, Government grants, small business loans, anti-discrimination laws, and plenty of other ways that one person can work to make a better life.
Judging by the posts below mine, it appears as if you’ve been presented with numerous facts and examples. Something liberals should learn just a little more about instead of relying on personal attacks all the time.

The USA is what it is because of freedom. If BHO and his street gang keep taking freedom and confiscating wealth, we will be worse off down the road.
Socialism hasn’t made the USA great. Freedom did.
When gov spending goes up so does poverty. Look at where government spending is the largest compared to the local economies here in the USA. That is where you have the highest poverty rates.

Your attempt at humor fails miserably. Certain African countries were at one time net exporters of grains prior to losing their freedom to dictatorial leaders. They now have starving populations. How hard is this to understand? The USSR was importing wheat prior to the collapse of the USSR, now they export wheat and other grains. Can you dispute or further explain your point?
In America the bottom quintile any given year will have 80% of members move to a higher group with a small percentage moving to the top quintile of wage earners in a single year. I’ve traveled the world, as you likely have not, I have seen that America is one of the few countries where people can rise up based on their own efforts and education and desire to achieve.
You are ignorant of facts and this makes you shallow. Until you educate yourself no one will take you seriously. Based on your writing, I would say you don’t even take yourself seriously.

For reference millions died in the USSR due to starvation, millions starved to death in China and I suspect with a little research one would find the same about most countries that are socialist/communist.

We are not truely free. Americans give the power over them to the government. Yet with our problems the truth is we are more free. And the starving thing is basicly true. Look at North Korea.Pol Pot starved millions. Chinese have starved by the millions.USSR had problems feeding its people. Communism is a flawed concept. There is no reason for exceptionalism. People without a dream starve.

In a way this is a true statement. Look at the countries where the government controls every aspect of people’ lives including food, people do starve. My mother in law who was alive during Hitler’s reign remembers eating spoiled potatoes for several meals because Hitler’s army would come into the villages, cities and towns and take what little food they had to feed the soldiers. Did you know that some of the food that is shipped to places like Africa for starving people is confiscated by its government? When you are not in a free nation you are at the mercy of the government and its leaders.

This one is also true. Poor people in China stay poor because they don’t have any opportunity for a better life unless they are lucky enough to move to some place like america. Then again if they have no conscience then they can make money by joining a criminal organization over there to get money.

Actually what that person said was true. You have to be retarded if you do not know why we had somalia. In fact Rwanda not only a Tutsi and Batutsi but their was genocide over food and who the government allowed to have it. Clearly you remember food was not allowed to get to Jews by the Germans.
So if I went on it would become pointless to prove that like the rest of you democrats edumacation and knowing who you are voting for is not high on your priority list.

oh so america wasN;t a free country. My I am so surprised you stayed in it so long.as for lawyers sure there are greedy lawyers but you know there are many that are not so greedy either. I have had some good ones and bad ones . ones that were over paid and ones that were reasonable. you don:t have to go to one you think is too greedy. as for federal agents I never had a problem with them.
and if you don:t know how much freedom we had you should visit other countries then you would know.
they do not have the freedom to watch what they want on tv; it is control by the government. newspapers are controlled by the government. religion is controlled by the government. business is controlled by the government. now I cannot say that. we were free until this election and it seems this kenyan wants the same kind of government for us.

Yes, America is not perfect!
We never claimed to be, but the America began by the Founding Fathers had a better start on the road to freedom and prosperity than any nation before or since!
What we have now is a country that has: defended it’s sovernty, fought a Civil War, experienced ‘Manifest Destiny’, the cultural Challenge of massive emigration, and (in the last 80 years) an assault from an established political party to grow the Federal Government far beyond anything the Framers would have allowed!
As you mock another contributor’s remark, you ignore a simple truth.
Without freedom people DO starve! They starve physically, socially, and emotionally. An example, the former Soviet Union.
As for your examples of challenges to your freedoms, aren’t these (in large part) the result of a bloated central government?
The reason for the Bill of Rights is due to a serious ‘Distrust’ of ‘centralized power’ by the Founding Fathers. They believed that the power of government should rest with the people and in the States, not in Washington!
Since you fail to see the hypocrisy of your post, I shall point it out to you.
The main purveyors of not just big, but massive centralized government is the Democratic Party!
And no Democratic Administration has ever grown government as quickly as the present administration!
If you want to expose myths, look to the Obama regime, it is developing quite a portfolio!

That question was so out there, someone has heard horror stories about the USSR, where forced labour was common practice and as it was customary for the State to feed these people they complained there was never enough to go around. Siberia was another situation, left out in the middle of nowhere to fend for themselves life was terribly difficult.
What people should realise is that the USA is so far removed from USSR that it actually did happen but will never happen here.
