If the free press clause of the First Amendment were repealed, then the judicial branch of government would ostensibly have no authority to rule against any level of government that was, in some way, censoring the press. Certain precedents rendered by the Supreme Court will have been effectively overturned. Any level of government could hypothetically have the discretion to regulate journalism any way the government wanted to.
But that doesn’t mean that journallists would have no freedom at all. It would depend on how often and in what ways government would try to regulate.

What we would miss about is the freedom to read, hear, and see opposing points of view. Say, for example, that the liberals got their way, and all of the conservative talk-show hosts on radio were silenced (yes, they [the liberals] actually discussed doing such a thing several months ago); well then we would be presented with only the left-biased take on all the important issues facing our country. They would just be able to edit and compose the "news" to present their take on things, and present us with poll results that showed how overwhelmingly the people supported their ideas. When in fact the opposite may be true. It would be a very dangerous set of circumstances that our normally free and open media and society would be faced with.

if freedom of the press was gone i assume so would the freedom of speech. it means people like me would be in jail or some cell in gitmo. they would miss having fair and unbiased news of world events. the problem these days isnt that you cant say what you want. its what they do say on the news is crap. the medias propaganda machine has never been stronger. so dont get all your news from fox news or cnn or abc. read a book, or a newspaper, or something not controlled by some douche bag that is only going to program you to be in a more submissive state.
