I was so informed by our County Sheriff just last month. Sorry, but the Bill of Rights is currently dead.

If you didn’t add the fact that this is for a school report, a lot more people would have helped you out.

All I can come up with for now, in these 2 seconds is maybe something along the lines of how most people don’t feel the effect of it because we take for granted the right to have it. We are used to speaking our mind and haven’t known another way to live without having those rights. You could put anything from it causing riots, strikes, etc to bringing people together based on similar beliefs they can express.

Mr. Duck (above) has jumped the gun on that one, I think.

This is one of the most important and meaningful subjects you could study. Hooray for your teacher!

Seriously, if you would like to understand what freedom of speech really means, study places that don’t have it. U.S. newspapers and Internet news may report on any topic, and print any opinion, good or bad, on anything. This isn’t true in every country.

We are allowed to criticize our government in public, and not go to jail for it. We are allowed to express our opinions on religion, and not get shot for it.

Dear child, you have NO idea how lucky you are to be here.
