What country can we move to now for freedom, since the United States is no longer the home of the free?

The U.S. was the Home of the Free and the Brave. Now it is the home of Comrade Obama and Pelosi. What country is the land of opportunity now?

This is interesting question to me. For many years people like me wanted to leave their country to go to freedom in America. We stayed because we can make it different. I am from Slovakia where was communism with many other countries for years. you may know soviet russia. Communism was very poor. We wanted to leave and go to freedom in the western europe and the America. We see now what is America with this new president it is so close to what we had before communism government. I think it is ok to care about some people and their health. This is losing freedom for you. My country has fought for near 20 years to be far from communist to be free. the person writes about Cuba and communist. I agree you know not what it is like and you do not want to know this feeling. It is morning and you must wake with the sun to see what is the problem. We who have lived in communism can see. Please America listen to this. Do not move from ther and others you can be wrong there is problem that you can see, please.

Come to Canada where we have all been paying health premiums for many years so that everyone has health care. It’s a wonderful country that cares about EVERY citizen.

I wish I had the answer. I feel so powerless. All we can do is make sure we have learned from this experience and remember it the next time we VOTE!

Oh, I’m sorry. How foolish me to think that mandating health care (like we already mandate car insurance) was not really affecting our freedom at all. And good job saying ‘comrade’ Obama, that’s a really useful buzzword.

I guess you need to move to Somalia, where there is no effective government regulation what-so-ever. You can even carry a gun and become a pirate! That is real free enterprise at work.

If you’re complaining about a country wanting to take care of its citizens then perhaps Somalia (they haven’t had a working government in decades)

don’t move, you/we were here first, just have to fight off people who think everything is free, trust me. It will be a shock to many that you actually "have to work, and earn things."

Try Mexico, despite it`s apparent messy appearance, in Mexico you are FREE to do whatever you want-it`s ANARCHY there – even go across the border illegally-Mexican government wont do a sh!t to stop you…just don`t lose your head…

I feel the same way and I too don’t know where to go. I’m thinking of visiting a few countries out there.

I may stay for a while and see how things are there. If I like it I may just get dual citizenship and return to the US only to visit family and nothing else. If there is a new change in government I can always come back.

I always turned down the dual citizenship thing but I may not do it now. Canada, Australia and Europe sound like viable options to me for now.

I have to look further into this and if Amnesty is passed I may start moving into action. Better to leave the country with the little I got then it is to leave with nothing at all.

Mike N – Check out USA on freedom of the press

    satisfactory situation

Sorry but I have to agree with that. Look at yahoo answers and mainstream media. Even Fox News is changing now.

P.S. It’s nice that you just want to move away instead of trying to make this country better. We’re better off without you.

You must be very silly, or very young. If young, try to stay away from the influence of old dinosaurs.
Health care for all is not communism. You are the only developed country where people die for lack of money. Lose their homes for medical costs. You have thousands of babies born each year grossly under weight and prone to illness because the mother could not afford a doctor. Your life expectancy is the shortest of all developed country’s. Your birth, death rate is the highest of all developed countries.
Do some research before making such silly statements.
The USA was never the only land of the free. You are not alone by a long shot. You probably don’t even know what true freedom is, or you wouldn’t make such an inflammatory statement.
It’s easy to just repeat what you hear. Grow up. Research your claim.
The USA is a great country among many. It has just taken a giant step towards full membership in a caring society.
Should you be referring to the multi-billion dollar bailout, remember, the last administration made the same bailout, but, WITHOUT STRINGS. Remember AIG using tax $$$ to give hundreds of millions in executive bonuses. Or is it okay for republicans to do that?
Give your head a shake. Perhaps the war in Iraq could have been canceled when the Bush lies were found out.I guess I’m wasting my time, but, if it gets you thinking again, it’s worth it.

A little change sure can cause a lot of panic.

What was so free about being victimized by big business and insurance and pharmaceutical companies? By lobbyists that had grown so powerful they were able to pressure and buy incredible secrecy and distortion of facts? The citizens of this country have been fleeced for decades by the special interests whose profits grew at previously undreamed of rates.

During all this panic that is mostly being cause by the distortion of truth by these very same special interests… please remember that Americans voted this President into office after he’d spent a year on the campaign trail making it clear that this was a high priority for him and his administration and, if elected, this country. There was no secret about it. It was upfront and center. There was lots of debating. And the majority of the voters wanted to see this sort of change happen.

That is the Home of the Free and the Brave. All the fear-mongering that is being tossed around isn’t about freedom. It’s about fear and control. We freely elected a new administration that, in truth, isn’t all that different from previous administrations. And this bill isn’t all that new either. We’ve had elected officials suggesting something like this for decades.
