MSU’s chapter landed on the hate group watch list. How’s that for conservative values?

"students told the paper they were not hate-mongers, but rather about "God, home and country.""
I’m sure the KKK says the same. Hitler was also according to himself all about those things. I’m totally not surprised they are on that list.
Just one more piece of evidence the American right is indeed regressive, anti Democratic and dangerous

I’m sure they’ve faced hatred pointed at them. The road goes both ways.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is a leftist organization, so of course they’re going to hate anything conservative!

That’s the SPLC’s list. They’re right up there with the ACLU in my book.

They are allowed to have their beliefs, as long as it does not cause violence.

Like they said, anyone can make a list. but on the other hand, does anyone know msu is on this list? Its a shame that you can be considered a hate group, a racist, a war-monger or hater, simply by speaking your mind!

That’s good news. Maybe Project for a New American Century will be next.

Sounds like a young Republican group to me .
All they need is to change the name to the student republican committee .

Let’s see, a far left group places a Conservative organization on a watch list, and I’m supposed to some how read into this that it is a symptom of some greater ill of the Conservative movement? Political correctness run amok is what it is.

Yes, they took an agressive stance against islam in Michigan, on the Michigan State campus. Probably not too wise.

You have to be pretty extreme to make it onto the SPLC’s list. It doesn’t surprise me. Personally, I’d add a few more to their list if it were me.

Yeah, well, read this:
"MSU’s chapter of Young Americans for Freedom, a conservative student organization, has sparked debate and campus protests by bringing in speakers deriding homosexuality, Islam and illegal immigrants, the Detroit Free Press reported. "
That’s not the type of conservative values I would like to see embraced. They deserve to be on their.

Conservativism at its finest. Actually they are extremists. Most conservatives I know would be quick to condem such people as in the article you cite. Unfortunately the extremism of some radicals in America is seen by their opponents as normal for that side of the spectrum when in reality most are no where near that way. Those radicals are often the most outspoken and visible because of the outrageous things they say and do. It is like on YA when we see some of the trolls and flamers who come on and post outrageous things. They are just trying to start trouble or are so far to one extreme or the other that most people find them offensive.
