Same reason cons love freedom of markets and trade but hate personal freedoms like gay marriage.

I won’t speak for liberals, but I believe in freedom for people, not necessarily freedom for money.
If money were not a means for exerting power over others, i.e. limiting their liberties, people could do whatever they wanted with money. But money does bring with it power, so you have to worry about people getting too much of it, or buying elections with it. But one needs power to exercise their liberties, so you have to worry about poverty, and providing for free exchange to the fullest extent possible without constraining peoples more important liberties.

Liberals only want things free when it abides to their guidelines…like free health-care, free food…etc…

Do you mean a true free market like Somalia has, with no government regulations, or interference? If you like it so much, why don’t you move there?
As for America, no thanks, I’d much rather see America as a country with a large, strong middle class.
Of course, if you can name another country where a free market has emerged on it’s own and worked successfully to create a strong middle class I’d love to hear it… although you’d be the first to name one.

Because they only support freedoms that don’t require effort or thought on their part.
A free market actually takes a tremendous amount of analyzing, checking and balancing, education, solidarity among citizens, a multi generational and historically accurate understanding of what worked and what does not work for and in a free market.
A successful capitalist country has such a vast, complex, multi-level
economy. Form the various forms of business, products, services. To understanding available workforce both foreign and domestic.
For those smart asses who think a free market equates = slavery, child labor, and an overworked underclass. You obviously have little to zero understanding as to why such labor forces actually hurt a free market not help it. Take an economics class or two, read the constitution, and kick your marxist professors in the balls for being such overpaid ignoramuses.

Civil rights and Economic Systems are different ideals. Why do Republicans detest regulation, unless its for Abortions or Gay Marriage?

Speaking for myself, I don’t consider freedom, in the sense of absence of government interference, to be an end in itself. I consider it a means to the end of equal opportunity to determine the circumstances of one’s own life. Oppressive laws can certainly be a barrier to equal opportunity, but so can poverty, ill-health, discrimination, and a poor education.
