I was involved the occult group Joy of Satan, and I dedicated my soul to Satan. I need Jesus! I want freedom!?

I want my soul and my old religion back. I want my relationship with Jesus and God back. For 6 years, I have wondered from Catholicism (Christianity), and I burnt out. I dedicated my soul to Satan (worst mistake), and now I want it back. But I want peace, I just hope God and Jesus can forgive me… Please respond: I need some good Christian advice.
You already took a bite from the fruit of knowledge.. That is how I see it..
When you do that, you are left to your own and among your "cultmates" against the world’s elements. I do not think things will go back to how they were before you "dedicated your soul to Satan".. Things changed forever after that. It is like the end of innocence.
But yes, you can still decide to extricate yourself from Satan’s hold and go back to the arms of Jesus and His Church.. But honestly, I do not really get the point why you want to come back when you made the important decision of joining the occult group. I assumed that you joined it because you see serious flaws in the Church, and not because you want to experiment..
I cannot give you a "good Christian advice", only an advice.. If you want to come back to Jesus, then do so. If you are tired of Satan, then leave him. Whatever decision you make, things will not go back to where they were.. You have acquired experience and knowledge that will stay with you (be with you, imbedded in you, be part of you, "haunt" you) for the rest of your life.. No one can take that away from you.
Feedom is relative.. If you do something you are forced to do because society considers it a "good" thing, I can not really consider that as freedom.. Freedom, for me, is when you decide to put your faith in something, and stand up for that something no matter what.. I do not know what freedom is for you.
Whatever decision you make, you will need an unwavering strength and undaunted will to carry on..

Pray to Jesus for forgiveness and tell him you’re sorry. He knows you’re sorry. He’ll forgive you, and God will, too. You have no idea how happy God will be to see you back!

True repentance is to get away from the sins and never go back to them. Ask Jesus to come back into your heart and help you live a strong life for Him. Tell Him that you accept Him as your Savior and that you know He died on the Cross for your sins. Ask Him to forgive you for unbelief and He will.
He says though your sins be as scarlet, they will be white as snow.
He also says that when He forgives your sin, He remembers them no more. (even when we condemn ourselves and can’t seem to get past this)

Get a book by Neil Anderson called Bondage Breaker. He also has other books-Steps to Freedom in Christ and Victory Over the Darkness which should be helpful. This is a more protestant approach, but very Biblical. I will be praying for you.

Stop freaking out about it.
It isn’t a big deal at all.
You can change religions whenever you want to. It’s easy. I would think anyway.
If you think you god-thing is forgiving, why wouldn’t he forgive you or whatever it is that you want?
(sorry, don’t know much about Christianity)

You are the only one that can make that decision. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and mean it from your heart. God will forgive you. When you feel you aren’t forgiven, that’s Satan.

Get on your knees and pray. Confess, repent and give up your sin. Ask God to forgive you. Ask God to purge the evil from your heart and fill it with His love. Ask Jesus to be your savior. Never look back. Commit yourself to prayer every day and God will be gracious and give you peace. It may take time to reform your life and the thoughts in your mind — just don’t give up and lean on God whenever you feel weak. Praise God you have come back to HIM!

Your diocease- bishop’s office- has a specific priest who can help you. Dont give up if the secretary is out to lunch or too busy, either! And dont get discouraged.

Quit torturing yourself with your thoughts.

honestly, if you were involved with joy of satan, i have no pity for you. they are an antisemitic group involved with the national socialist nazis. if you stayed with them for 6 years you must have felt the same way they did on some of these things. as an atheist i could care less about satan or jesus, but if you’re a nazi you get no pity from me.

If this is sincere, which it appears to be, you need only accept Christ as your saviour, repent of your sins, including those you speak of. Which means have a true heart for change. Try to turn your back on your sin, but know that if you fail, pray to God and he will help you. Begin reading the bible. Pray every day. Try to do so in quiet without others to interupt. Pray often. Look for a program called cleansing stream if you want some advanced help.

As a Christian at one time, you know you have to ask Jesus for forgiveness of your sins. He will know if your heart is true. By my personal experience of being on the darker side also, I encourage you to pray everyday! Your transition to Christianity will make Satan upset. There will be many trials during this time. Dont give up, keep an open line of communication to Jesus. He will give you strength. Be strong, Thank God you are comming back!

"In Him," writes Paul to the Colossians, "we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:14).
1) What can Satan do to a believer?
i. he can tempt him to sin (1CO 7:5).
ii. he can become personally involved in the life of a believer (MAT 16:21-23; EPH 6:12; 1PE 5:8,9).
iii. he can oppress a believer.
3) What can a Christian do to defend himself/herself?
i. call upon the LORD, his/her covenant partner, to fight for him/her (see 1Sa 18:3ff to understand the symbols of a covenant and what they entail).
ii. resist the Devil (JAM 4:7).
iii. pray for God to rebuke Satan (JUD1:9).
iv. immerse himself/herself in godly thoughts by studying the Bible (PHI 4:8; 2CO 10:5).

Welcome back! It is that easy. My advice is to saturate yourself in the healing balm of the Word of God. Jesus accepts and loves you as you are this I know. Four years ago Jesus came to me and I was not someone christians would even want to spend time with. It would have been easy to judge myself by others standards, but instead I listened to the Holy Spirit within me and found Jesus to be real through the examples in the gospels and I became closer and closer to His purpose of love towards others… I live now to love others with the same love Jesus showed me. I have a live of purpose through His love. I give this joy to you in the name of Jesus because I know the power of His love even through my words here.

So you WANT your old religion back. You are tired of the lies and deception that Satan told you. Praise be to God. well lets take that all important walk. The one that leads you back to Christ.
Step 1. Admit to God your Sins through prayer and confession (here is the cool part, you don’t need a priest for this one God has a 24 hour Prayer line open).
Step 2. Accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and ask him to come into your heart and live there for ever.
Step 3. Believe that Jesus IS in your heart and is living there for all eternity.
Step 4 Find a good Bible teaching, Bible Preaching, Full Gospel (from Genesis to Maps) believing church.
Step 5. Confess to the pastor that you have accepted Christ as your savior and are seeking baptism and be baptized in Christ. once baptized then begin studying your bible ( your not going to be able to go marathon distances yet so start slow and small but START. Plus do not forget to pray daily. start with your basic check in and go from there.) Plus start attending bible study classes… these will help you.
Gods Love and Mercy poured out on you.

Jesus is NOT freedom.
Jesus is just more rules and conditions and CONFORMITY.
If you want to be really free, you have to be able to think for yourself.

Let me say this to you first and foremost. Many of us have dedicated our souls to satan simply by the way we live…and many of use have traded the horror, the sorrow, the pain, of a life of sin and hate for the Joy of the Lord.
God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit can forgive you and will . All you have to do is Call upon the Lord Jesus, humbly repent of your sins, cry out to Him for forgiveness. You, as a Catholic are familiar with this prayer, right now, get on your knees and lift your hands to God and say

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done, On Earth..

Jay, I praise God that you have chosen to come to Jesus. You may be carrying a heavy burden of sin, excessive demands of religious leaders,oppression and persecution or weariness in search of God.
Jesus frees people of burdens, the rest that Jesus promises is Rest, Healing, and Peace (your request) with God.
You Jay, being raised in the Catholic Faith are familiar with the Apostles Creed. I believe the only person you need to ask for forgivness, is God.

Jay, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you a church that is strong in teaching the The Word of God, that has a vision that is in agreement with God’s Word. Read the New Testament and Learn of Jesus and find answers to to your questions. Read Psalms 1, and strengthen yourself by reading Gods Word.
