Does anyone support any terrorist/freedom fighter groups?
Posted on February 16th, 2010 by admin
I used to go to school with many pro IRA schoolmates. I wonder if anyone in yahoo answers supports a certain group and if so which ones and why?
Thank you
one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter
i agree with Terry, PLO, and all the factions that fight for the cause.
If the IRA are terrorists for fighting the british empire, then George Washington was also a terrorist for fighting Great Britain. Same situation but different timeline.
No doubt, some organisations diguise themselves and serve a financial , or a foreign countrys agenda, and are merciless in order pressure the governments for personal benefits.. But thats a minority

No real need to support Terrorists, when you live in a parliamentary democracy. Hence the failure of the IRA.

No, I oppose all acts of violence no mater for the cause. But I often question HOW exactly we define a group as terrorists. The label seems to be flying around to anyone that opposes a government with violent means. The interesting part is that (a) the government itself has most likely been established after a series of bloody acts (US kicking out the English were terrorists I assume?) and (b) the title seems never attached to a government terrorizing a group of people with violent means. That would be called establishing law and order.
And a though: History is made by winners so … todays terrorist, tomorrows hero? Sad … lol

Terrorist groups nearly always get labelled as such by those suppressing the freedom of the people they fight for.The Palestinians by the Israelis and America,The IRA by the British etc.
I believe the Irish had a right to fight for their freedom.I believe the Palestinians have a right to fight against those who have stolen their land and continue to illegally occupy it.

I agree with moataz b re one man’s terrorist etc. America supported terrorism for years – IRA. Anyone who says Nelson Mandela is a great man also supports terrorism. Lets not forget he was in the ANC which was a terrorist group. The cause is irrelevant.
