This group includes many elected officials. Thus government information about group activities should be made public?

Nope. It’s a private group of wealthy and powerful people. If every private act of an elected official was available under FOIA, i should be able to request transcripts of dinner-time at the White house.

FOIA applies only to GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
Bilderburg is not a government agency, regardless of the occupations of its members.

not unless it is a government agency or arm. you can try to argue in court that it effectively is a government agency — the argument has been tried before and failed.

just think — ACORN gets most of its funding from the government so maybe it should be subject to the FOI act, too.

Isn’t that like saying, "Many elected officials buy their cars from John’s Car Outlet, therefore John’s Car Outlet’s financials should be mad available for public scrutiny."

Information is made available to the public about government activities involving elected officials based on the fact that it involves government activities, not based on the fact that it involves elected officials.

I just checked back on here and noticed that I was called a "tard" by someone who accused my analogy of being "short sided." "Short side" is a golfing term regarding the position of the ball on the green. "Shortsighted" means not carefully considered, though I disagree that it is.

    Yeah, I’m the tard.

In any event, just because a group discusses U.S. policy does not make them a government agency or official government business that is, or should be, subject to the FOIA.

Josh you comparison to a car dealership and a organization that dictates global policy is a little short sided, dont ya think? Tard.

The fact that this group discusses US policy should make them accountable for what they talk about.
