I believe every one is entitled to their opinion so if religious people say homosexuality is wrong it is their right to freedom of speech and thought and they end up being called homophobs.They are not so so scared of homosexuals they just oppose them and phobia is a fear especially unreasonable fear.

my thoughts exactly, the whole concept of freedom of speech only exists to favour certain people…anyone who doesnt agree with homos, religions and other things have a right to say it.

It’s honestly a disgrace, forget freedom of speech, this is ridiculous, these bunch of animals should be shot. It’s soldiers like those that ensured that we have such freedoms. As they are going against these; their freedom should be stripped and whatever punishment the public see fit should be enforced. Hopefully death.

The soldiers should be allowed to break ranks and set about these scum,And the police should walk away.

What law or rule gives the schools to act as the ‘parent’ when you are on the school grounds?

I mean, its no news that the school takes away freedom of speech(with good reason) so you can’t just go around cursing and making threats, but i want to know why?How?

freedom of speech doesnt really mean freedom of speech. you cant make threats anywhere, and you cant say anything that could incite violence. so cussing and threats are both technically illegal. but they should take into account how the word was used like if your cussing at someone then its bad but casually cussing shouldn’t be a problem.

Throughout the world, countries with strong governments do not allow free speech. This is even true in European countries that forbid speech that criticizes government policies disguised in legislation called hate crimes and thought crimes. So can a nation with a strong government, allow freedom of speech or does it disappear because the strong government tries to be a nanny state and determine the rights it can provide and take away from its citizens?

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. As such, our Founding Fathers chose to expressly limit the powers of the federal gov’t in the Constitution. That said, we’ve allowed our gov’t to grow to a point that the Constitution is completely ignored. The vast, vast majority of what Congress votes on every day is unconstitutional under various amendments.

When people allow the gov’t to grow too powerful, rights are trampled. Thus, when carried to the extreme, the answer to your Q is, "No."

is sedition "0bama regime" while patriotic freedom of speech is "Bush regime"?

Sedition is designed to incite rebellion against authority as in an act of civil unrest or violence. The people on the left are attempting to cause civil unrest by their rhetoric against citizens who do not agree with their policies. If their words stir some fringe group to an act of violence against government, they have used sedition to accomplish an act of rebellion. The very people who are guilty of sedition are accusing peaceful group demonstrations of using sedition. Their hope is to discredit any who would disagree with the greed, corruption and flawed agenda that the administration and Congress are engaging in. It is sort of like lighting a fire and then blaming others for the act of arson. The left has no morals or class, only an agenda at any cost.

Do activists for illegals want to restrict freedom of speech & start arresting people who violate their guidelines for what is acceptable speech and what is not ? Will they be pressuring Obama to start arresting people and jail them ?

Yes, isn’t it funny how they want to arrest us for speaking our minds and defending our country, but do not want the real criminal illegals arrested. Shows how low their tactics and morality is.

Freedom of speech is important EVERYWHERE.

If the government controls your speech, you have no freedom. Once they take your freedom to say what you want, they will begin to control what you think.

It seems lately,you can never have a freedom of speech here and express your opinions,and then you get banned because of people who love to report others.I get everyone arguing with me about me being against abortion,spanking/hitting and not believing in a "god" why can we not live peacefully without judging a person by their belief’s?

True "freedom of speech" and complete religious freedom have never existed in USA. The Constitution was and is a tremendous document. If you slander someone , that can not be hidden behind the First Amendment.
If you’re a "Wiccan" you might still be arrested in some parts of the USA.
In reality the USA has moved away from it’s own Constitution and will never revert back.
