What Freedom(s) or Rights did the Terrorists attack?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin

I hear that the troops are fighting for our freedom and our rights but I don’t remember my freedom(s) or rights being attacked.

The troops are not fighting for our freedom or our rights they are fighting because Bush told them to.

The biggest threat from terrorism isn’t the action of it, but the REACTION to it.
Thank You fellow Americans for your honesty and ignorance. A lot of anger and choice words but no one can tell me what freedoms and rights, they attacked or tried to take away.

Life is not a right, people die everyday and its a gaurantee you will too, none of us are meant to stay here forever.

The terrorists DIDN’T attack our rights or freedoms. However, Bush and the Right are attacking them daily

How does the Freedom and Rights of Canadian Citizens separate us from the United Kingdom?

Posted on January 20th, 2010 by admin

basically, while UK relies on precedent rather than written a written constitution, the Charter, along with the 1982 Constitution, created an almost American-style governing document, complete with judicial review of legislation.

In effect, Canadain government took a big step away from the UK foundation of governance and made a foundation similar to the US’.

Does a child have rights to freedom of religion choice under their parents?

Posted on January 17th, 2010 by admin

Can a kid be forced to practice a religion under their parents?
I’m being forced to attend yom kippur services and I’m an atheist and I don’t think that this is right. Please tell me if this is allowed to happen and how I can stop it.

As a minor, you have very few rights at all (the right to a basic education, medical care, basic clothing, simple shelter, and basic food and that’s that!). You have no privacy rights, no property rights, no right of self-determination, and no right to choose either your sexuality and/or your religion. Until you reach the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must obey all lawful commands and directions from your parents and you must submit to their authority and discipline.

This is because they have the hard duty to bring you up to be a self-respecting, self-supporting adult that will be an asset to society, rather than a burden. And the state will assist your parents in whatever they feel is best in raising such an adult (ie. if you rebel against your parents, they can get the law to assist them in controlling you).

To directly answer your question, you have no right to freedom of religion as a minor and you won’t until you become a legal adult. You can be forced to practice whatever religion your parents choose (with one or two minor exceptions like if your parents insist on female circumcision, that is against the law or if they are Jehovah’s Witnesses and they refuse to permit you to receive a blood transfusion). And yes, this is legal. You can do nothing to stop it and if you refuse your parents lawful orders and directions, you will find that they have the right to punish you with almost impunity!

I suggest you obey your parents. Once you are a self-supporting adult, you can move out and do as you plese.

Freedom of speech. We can criticize the government, suggest changes, without fear of reprisal by the government. It’s a vitally important right.

Army veterans or soldiers: Is it true they are fighting for my freedom and rights each and every day?

Posted on December 26th, 2009 by admin

I am talking about US veterans and soldiers. Are they fighting for America every day?

Our service is the one thing that stands between your freedom and incursions by enemies bent on America’s destruction. Without a powerful standing military, others would be emboldened to attack us.

How do you explain the concept of rights (as in freedom is a right)to ESL students?

Chinese students studying for the naturalization exam are having a hard time with the word "right" as it is used in the BIll of Rights," for example. Any ideas on how to convey its definition? They are still struggling with basic English.

If Glenn Beck is all about freedom and personal rights and doesn’t discriminate, is he for gay rights?

Posted on December 18th, 2009 by admin

Though he is an outrageously conservative republican and he is convinced that America is under communist rule, does he support gay rights? He mentions freedom several times.

I think Glenn Beck believes the Bible – so no he would not be for gays to have special rights.

What would you do if you discovered that all your freedom of speech rights are forfeited?

Posted on December 15th, 2009 by admin

Every single Newspaper, Comment site , Social networks, any place that originally allowed you to freedom of speech suddenly deleted your comments ,accounts, and whatever utilizes your freedom to speech are suddenly taken away from you ?

I’d keep looking for new ways to express myself.

China opened up because of the Olympics and many citizens that had never been able to talk to people from other countries found a whole new world on their computers. After the Olympics their global connections were cut away again and they were back to a very limited and censored internet. Did they accept that? No. They keep finding creative ways to get out on the global uncensored internet to make their voices heard. I’d be just like them.

Why does USA preach to China about religious freedom and human rights?

Posted on December 13th, 2009 by admin

USA tells China that Christianity should be allowed to be promugated by westerners in China. USA tells China that Tibetains should have autonomy to run their affairs including practicing their religion. USA tells China to consume more and export less. USA tells China to spend more money to buy consumer goods. USA tells China to raise its currency, so that USA can export more into China. USA tells China to stop censoring the media and press and that freedom of the press should be prevalent. USA tells China that they should not spend so much money on the military. USA tells China that they should not invest in Africa to aid governments that don’t have their internal affairs in order. What does China tell the USA? Nothing, they just listen, smile, and do what they decide. Why? Because USA promotes whats good for USA, not China. And they do it with a smile. What USA characterized is religious freedom and human rights violations, China rejects such characterization, USA don’t know what China is doing, and such accusations by the west is absurd in the eyes of slanteyes. So they just ignore what rubbish the big nose whitie is talking about. An old confucius saying goes like this: Those that talk alot and are loud, knows nothing. Those that say nothing, knows alot. China’s vision in the continent of Africa is successful in the eyes of africans, much development and win win is going on their, it is in direct opposition to western government methods (which failed to help that continent in agriculture and infrastructure development), China is an opportunity for Africans to develop their country in partnership with the east. Africans do not like the stick of the west which says, do as westerners tell you, or you will not get our investments. Africans tell the west, ok, we will not listen to you nor welcome your investments with strings. Frankly, threats don’t move africans, only cooperation and mutual respect, which westerners don’t have for africans. Go home yankee.

Your post is an excellent example of why Americans should support American businesses instead of spending their dollars in support of the Chinese government.
