freedom/choices quote???

Posted on January 20th, 2010 by admin

I need a quote about how great America’s many choices and freedoms are…it’s for an English essay. please make it short and sweet. I don’t care if you find one or make one up yourself, but please include the name, even if it’s just a "pen name" because i can’t use it if i can’t acknowledge it. it could also be about the wide variety of freedoms/choices in general or compared to other countries. I need it by thursday the 8th please. Thanks!

Where does the quote "element of freedom" come from?

Posted on January 17th, 2010 by admin

I know this is the title of Alicia Key’s new album.
I wanted to know where she got the phrase from?
Or did she create it her self ?
Because she reads a poem out at the beginning of the album, its titles as "intro"

She didn’t invent the phrase. It appears in this book from 1968:
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=lDCsAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA183&lpg=PA183&dq=%22element+of+freedom%22+etymology&source=bl&ots=7jQm311WwV&sig=45V3ahYZ4bUh5kXKPaXXhwyvg78&hl=en&ei=9cpFS_6SMYGe4QbFkMH1Ag&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAcQ6AEwAA

The Element of Freedom is also called Freedominium, and is very rare. It hasn’t been added to the periodic table yet.

I need a quote about freedom.?

Posted on January 7th, 2010 by admin

I am writing a paper and need a good serious quote about freedom.

No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation."
— Douglas MacArthur

What does this quote mean to you? (it’s about freedom)?

Posted on December 26th, 2009 by admin

"No man has recieved from nature the right to give orders to others. Freedom, is a gift from heaven, & every individual of the same species has the right to enjoy it as soon as he’s in enjoymnt of his reason." – Denis Diderot

What does this quote mean to you?

Nature is very close to God. You could even say nature is the expression of God as it provides us with everything we need on this earthly plane. So this quote I think says that you have no right to order around others or go against an individueal’s free will choice. Freedom is everyone’s birth right not only sanctioned by nature but also set as a law by God. Freedom is a beautiful thing which gives you pleasure but might also give you pain and suffering if used in an unwise way.

How would you interpret this quote: "I am chained to the earth to pay for the freedom of my eyes."?

Posted on December 21st, 2009 by admin

It is true. The only major difference is:-

Some people are having this feeling with a gold chain.
Some people are having this feeling with silver chain.
Some people are having this feeling with iron chain.

At the same time some there are people who are not at all having any metal chain. Still they feel they are chained or bound or jailed. Thus people are bound by some sort of invisible (subtle) chain, which is called attraction or repulsion. They live in this a free world with all sorts of bondage. Just like magnet they are attracted. The Mother Earth is, therefore, having gravitational power which acts like a magnet.

what is ur opinion of the quote ‘one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist’?

Posted on December 15th, 2009 by admin

more details the better and the more persuassive language is good too, thanks :D

During World War II, the Malayan People’s Anti-Japanese Army was allied with the British, but during the Malayan Emergency, members of its successor (the Malayan Races Liberation Army), were branded "terrorists" by the British.More recently, Ronald Reagan and others in the American administration frequently called the Afghan Mujahideen "freedom fighters" during their war against the Soviet Union, yet twenty years later, when a new generation of Afghan men are fighting against what they perceive to be a regime installed by foreign powers, their attacks are labelled "terrorism" by George W. Bush. Groups accused of terrorism understandably prefer terms reflecting legitimate military or ideological action.Leading terrorism researcher Professor Martin Rudner, director of the Canadian Centre of Intelligence and Security Studies at Ottawa’s Carleton University, defines "terrorist acts" as attacks against civilians for political or other ideological goals, and goes on to say "There is the famous statement: ‘One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.’ But that is grossly misleading. It assesses the validity of the cause when terrorism is an act. One can have a perfectly beautiful cause and yet if one commits terrorist acts, it is terrorism regardless.

"We have to call it ‘freedom’: who’d want to die for ‘a lesser tyranny’?" What do you think of that quote?

(~Mignon McLaughlin )

Choosing the lesser evil by fighting for a less authoritarian leader.

What does the quote ‘Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth’ mean?

Posted on December 5th, 2009 by admin

It means if you conform to others (follow) then you’re giving up your freedom to who you’re conforming to. They are controlling you. And if you do this, you can not grow, or have your own thoughts or opinions or act on them. You remain under the direction of who you conform to and cannot flourish.

What is the quote that Alex Carev says in the episode "Freedom" (Grey’s Anatomy)?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

I’m pretty sure that it’s this episode where he tells Izze about his mom having medical problems and he helped her as a child. Then he says something along the lines of "You’re not a hero for plaing the cards life deals you" or something. Does anyone know what the exact quote is? I’ve looked everywhere!

I seldom watch greys anantomy so I don’t have the exact answer for you but, you can re-watch that episode again at www.tv-video.net. there is a
"freedom" part 1 and part 2. you can read the episode at
www.televisonwithoutpity.com reading it is better then you can see the exact quote. to find out who said it first. you can take that quote to wikipedia and do a search to find out who said it first. or type it into ask.com. I hope this helps.
