Doesn’t The Banning Of Gay Marriage Sort Of Undermine The Whole Concept Of American Freedom?

Posted on February 18th, 2010 by admin

I mean, didn’t our ancestors fight the revolutionary war so that people would have rights, and to establish a separation of Church & State?

That’s true.

It’s also true that it was fought on the pretense that all men were equal, and then included segments about slavery being pretty cool. The US is a great country, but like all people it takes longer for our actions to match our ideals. As the Constitution says, we are trying everyday to form a more perfect union… sometimes we get it wrong :-(

If the terrorists attacked the US because they hate American freedom was the Patriot Act Bush’s surrender ?

19 men armed with box cutters (so the story goes) attacked America because they hate US freedoms –

Bush in an act of surrender – takes those freedoms away from the American people

Agree disagree ?
sfaa

I think you mean that the American people are angry with Bush for giving the terrorists exactly what they wanted

An end to American freedom

Bush surrendered to the wishes of those who attacked you and ended the freedoms of Americans

So yes I imagine a lot of people do hate Bush’s actions of a coward who surrendered to the wishes of those who attacked America

I agree, except you forgot the part about 11 countries warning us in advance of an attack and Chaney ordering our air national defense to "Stand down" on 9/11.

Co-incidence? That made Chaney fabulously rich with war profiteering? I think not.

British Member of Parliment says

"It is known that at least 11 countries provided advance warning to the U.S. of the
9/11 attacks."

Why do liberals keep trying to abolish American Freedom?

Posted on February 15th, 2010 by admin

My Pastor said it’s cause they’re a bunch communist hippys!

You have it backwards, it’s the Fascist wing of the conservative movement that wants to cancel the Constitution and install a National Security Dictatorship.

A key concept in American literature is personal freedom. Select one piece of literature from the course which dealt with the idea of personal freedom. In your response, include the name of the work of literature, the type of literature (novel, play, story or poem), and at least two specific ways in which the concept of personal freedom is evident in that literary work.

Common Sense- Thomas Payne

Is that what you needed?

How are American troops in Iraq fighting for our freedom?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

How are the U.S. troops fighting for the freedom of the American people? How are our freedoms being threatened in the first place? How exactly are U.S. soldiers combatting this threat to our freedoms? How will we know when our freedoms are safe and secured? I am not looking for metaphorical answers, or vague, passionate answers, I want neutral facts. Thank you.
If you need me to clarify further I am NOT asking how the U.S. troops are fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people. I am asking for how they are fighting for the freedom of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
I find it interesting how difficult it is to supply a straightforward answer for this question, yet the talking point of "our soldiers are over there right now fighting for our freedoms" or "right now our soldiers are fighting for your very freedom to speak freely" is used so often, so confidently, and so passionately.

they are not fighting for your freedom… Instead, the American government has started a live of imprisonment for the American people……

What are the most important changes in American Freedom?

Posted on January 27th, 2010 by admin

from the colonial period through Reconstruction, both in terms of expansion and contraction of freedom.

Thank you!

It is the one taking place right now. It’s the change from the free nation to a dictatorship / communist nation. This is the one YOU have to look out for Because it’s yours in just a few years. The USA is becoming part of a world nation. To be dictated by one governing body.
I wont be here Think GOD I don’t want to see it. when that takes place but YOU WILL.
I’m sorry for your future. I feel sad for all the great man and weman that died the protect it. But in the end failed.

Just think of me falling into deep space drifting ever further. like an astronaut with no way back.
That’s what I feel about what you will be faced with.
You will never know just what true freedom is. It will be just a dream to you.

How did John Hancock’s past contributions to American freedom help shape our country’s guiding principles?

Posted on January 25th, 2010 by admin

He was the first person to finance the American Revolution, because he was against "Taxation without Representation" that pretty much started the revolution. And because of the revolution, which woulodn’thave been possible without him, we got a new country that gave us the rights that we have today.
