LMAO! I bet your pastor is a baptist minister who still prefers segregation and women inequality. Ask yourself this, why do conservatives like poverty, tax relief for upper class and free commerce for oversea imports but not exports? Yeah, but your "Pastor" is probably suffering from a mental health problem – such as the "god delusion" – the irrational belief that there is some kind of "god" or "higher being" – despite a complete lack of evidence to support it.

As for liberals being opposed to freedom – if you think this is true you should try examining the way you’re using these two words – look up liberal in any reasonable dictionary, and you’ll find something like:

"Favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties." – from http://www.dictionary.com

The word comes from the same origin as "liberty".

So, either your definition of freedom or your definition of liberal is wrong – as these two go hand-in-hand.

Your pastor needs to do God's work not the work of politicians. Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar. Combining Church and state is an American freedom in what way? Please enlighten us. Ask your pastor for help since he seems to know so much about American politics. How is violating the Constitution with warrentless wire taps promoting American freedom? Perhaps you and your pastor can explain that. I doubt your pastor even knows what a Communist or a Hippy is or what they believe in. He/she sounds pretty closed minded to me.

American liberals have become more and more socialistic over the years. Socialism is STATISM, whereby the government/state has total control and tells everyone what they can or cannot do.

Liberals think that by having the government make sure that no one has anything more than anyone else – money, property, opportunity – that the "playing field" will be "level" and that all will be fair.

It is the kind of thing that is only believed by immature people. That includes dictators like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

They are secular progressives as well as members of the blame America crowd. They are tolerant of people that wouldnt be tolerant of them…..WHY are they that way? I guess they ARE closet socialist/ communists…..They believe in the path of least resistance…They are also part of the whiny we can talk this out club…The only thing is that they are in an exclusive club of their own. I would also say that it is not necessarily just a liberal deal about abolishing freedoms…..
