Your pastor should crack open his bible once in a while, especially to the Epistles in the new testament, where he’d find that it isn’t his job to sway his congregation politically, but to lead them toward a christian lifestyle in their own lives. In fact, if more Christians actually read their bibles, the Republican party would have a lot less support than it’s got (Jesus wasn’t really a fan of rich religious figures, or business interests).

Liberalism is about control. In order for liberals to actualize their policy, they must, stepwise if necessary, abolish all freedoms until tyranny takes its place.
Liberals are the Torries of yesteryear, who remained loyal to the monarch and caste system by which they prospered as a result of birthing without effort. They are they who rob from the poor and give to themselves.
Most liberals tend to like communism because it constitutes a concentration of power under the guise of equality and utopia. As long as men remain as they are, utopia is impossible. As for hippies, most liberals are also hippies because they want freedom FROM responsibility and freedom TO do whatever they want. Some of them may mean to be good masters, but no matter what, they mean to be MASTERS.
Your pastor is correct but without clarification, that’s simply another bigoted expression.

Yes please give some examples. Ask your pastor how he feels about the patriot act, or wireless wiretapping or the fact that if you were labeled an enemy combatant you could be imprisoned without any rights. Ask your pastor how he feels that Muslims by contributing to their churches can be labeled enemy combatants and thrown into prison without any rights.

They are secular progressives as well as members of the blame America crowd. They are tolerant of people that wouldnt be tolerant of them…..WHY are they that way? I guess they ARE closet socialist/ communists…..They believe in the path of least resistance…They are also part of the whiny we can talk this out club…The only thing is that they are in an exclusive club of their own. I would also say that it is not necessarily just a liberal deal about abolishing freedoms…..

American liberals have become more and more socialistic over the years. Socialism is STATISM, whereby the government/state has total control and tells everyone what they can or cannot do.
Liberals think that by having the government make sure that no one has anything more than anyone else – money, property, opportunity – that the "playing field" will be "level" and that all will be fair.
It is the kind of thing that is only believed by immature people. That includes dictators like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

Your pastor needs to do God’s work not the work of politicians. Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar. Combining Church and state is an American freedom in what way? Please enlighten us. Ask your pastor for help since he seems to know so much about American politics. How is violating the Constitution with warrentless wire taps promoting American freedom? Perhaps you and your pastor can explain that.
I doubt your pastor even knows what a Communist or a Hippy is or what they believe in. He/she sounds pretty closed minded to me.

Yeah, but your "Pastor" is probably suffering from a mental health problem – such as the "god delusion" – the irrational belief that there is some kind of "god" or "higher being" – despite a complete lack of evidence to support it.
As for liberals being opposed to freedom – if you think this is true you should try examining the way you’re using these two words – look up liberal in any reasonable dictionary, and you’ll find something like:
"Favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties." – from http://www.dictionary.com
The word comes from the same origin as "liberty".
So, either your definition of freedom or your definition of liberal is wrong – as these two go hand-in-hand.

LMAO! I bet your pastor is a baptist minister who still prefers segregation and women inequality. Ask yourself this, why do conservatives like poverty, tax relief for upper class and free commerce for oversea imports but not exports? Plus, I love a good oxymoron like hippy communist, or "promise keeper"!
