How come some liberals seem to think that freedom of speech does not apply to conservatives?

Posted on March 31st, 2011 by admin

A few anti-war protesters attempted to deny John McCain’s freedom of speech, by disrupting his acceptance address at the RNC.

Don’t these people believe in free speech for ALL Americans — including those whose opinions are different from their own?

I don’t recall this kind of thing being doen during Obama’s acceptance speech.

And please, none of this they were only exercising their own free speech garbage.

Exercising one’s rights does not mean we are allowed to infringe on someone else’s. That’s what these idiots did.

.

yes they do believe john had right to say what he can say. but they also have right to say what want to say to. yes it does mean childish screaming matches.

Why is it the radical Republicans want freedom but are against online casinos?

Posted on March 29th, 2011 by admin

Some US citizens $$$ on online casinos, shouldn’t the US pass an online casino bill like H.R. 2267 to allow the very freedoms we want to have in the U.S. ???
Answering a question with a question is not answering a question…just answer the question or don’t bother…

Facts?

Do Freedom of the Press do co-insist with Just, Credible, Puppet journalism?

Posted on March 27th, 2011 by admin

Is there a controlled news (journalism)? And why they want to have Freedom of the Press? Is there a comparison & contrast or a mere fact we do live in a world of Entertainment?

While you may have been trying to be funny, you failed miserably.

Some conflicts associated with Freedom of the Press?

Posted on March 25th, 2011 by admin

Hello! I’m working on a homework assignment, and struggling to come up with conflicts that are associated with Freedom of the Press. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advanced!

it is censorship.

America guarantees freedom of speech but why do we have censorship?

Posted on March 23rd, 2011 by admin

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I think that means that one can speak out against the government without fear of reprisals. It does not mean that one may say, or do, disgusting and vulgar things just for the sake of doing them..

In what ways did the boundaries of American freedom grow narrower in this period?

Posted on March 21st, 2011 by admin

i assume you mean the last 30 years or something like that?

look up stuff like the patriot act it will link you to alot more im not going into detail incase you mean the 1900’s or something

Do you really want the FCC to regulate Freedom of the Press?

Posted on March 19th, 2011 by admin

http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/132195-fcc-proposal-to-regulate-news-draws-fire

So who ever is in office can decide pass the "public values test" is OK.

I think FCC needs to stay out of Freedom of Press don’t you?

This is the same story… The radicals cannot sell their ideas, so they want to FORCE them on you.

What can I use in my history class debate as evidence that freedom of speech has limits in school?

Posted on March 17th, 2011 by admin

I am arguing that in the Tinker vs. Des Moines case that Des Moines had the right to prevent students from protesting the Viatnam War. I have to prove that in the First Amendment where it says all people have freedom speech, schools can put limits on whast their students say and do.

Here are several:

Grayned v. City of Rockford (1972) : Anti-noise ordiance near a school building.

Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier (1988) : Principal can censor the school newspaper.

Lamb’s Chapel v. Center Moriches Union Free School District (1993): Churches can’t meet at a school if the disctrict doesn’t want them there.

Police Dep’t v. Mosley, 408 U.S. 92 (1972) : picketing at school

Board of Educ. v. Pico, 457 U.S. 853 (1982) : removal of books from school libraries

Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School Dist., 393 U.S. 503 (1969) : black arm bands in protest to Vietnam War

Yates v. United States, 354 U.S. 298 (1957) : teaching of Communist principles

Does State violence inflicted on the freedom and Democracy protesters in the Middle East show…?

Posted on March 15th, 2011 by admin

Does State violence inflicted on the freedom and Democracy protesters in the Middle East show exactly why Americans need to preserve their Constitutional RIGHT to keep and bear arms?

I believe, when we look at the actions of the regimes in the middle east, and how the police are shooting women, children and well, indiscriminately at anyone who protests, is absolute proof of why the 2nd amendment was enacted in the first place.

Am I wrong?

If I am wrong in my interpretation of the 2nd amendment, please feel free to correct me.

Good question.

I would have to agree with you, State violence, or the threat of it, against the People is absolutely the reason, at least one reason, for the 2nd amendment.
There are or were rather, other reasons of course when it was written, such as the United States not having a fully functioning armed forces at the time, but in today’s World, it would serve as a deterrent or one form of insurance to a People who find themselves on the receiving end of State violence, such as we are seeing in the Middle East today.

Americans should take note.

What has happened to this state and freedom?

Posted on March 14th, 2011 by admin

What has happened to be able to buy guns in new jersey or even just fireworks why have everything bin outlawed by old ugly bald di Cks what does it even feel like to live in a state now where you could actually do things Its been so long since I lived in pa and I love pennsylvania but what happened to the constitution

Those in the government here believe that to be able to exercise your 2nd amendment right you need to ask permission to see if your status as an American is good enough. God forbid you want to get a concealed carry permit to protect yourself from crime, then you have to prove that you have an exceptional reason to believe your life is in serious and imminent danger. That is so hard to do that the state doesn’t even have an actual form for it because they will never agree that you can protect yourself. I guess we should follow cops around all day in case something happens so they can protect us.

I don’t think we should vote them out, I say all of the people who love the constitution should just move and let them wallow in their mess. Eventually it will be rampant with section 8 housing and welfare checks to the point that there is nobody to pay for it anymore. Then the crime wave starts and the anti gun groups won’t have enough cops to protect them, and no citizens to stand up for themselves of one another. Then I say we blockade the the north and demo the bridges across the Delaware river. At least I live in south jersey where the farmland is.
Yeah, I know how you feel….. that was my rant.
