Is this the Republican quote of the day: "When other countries don’t have freedom, their people starve"?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

True quote from a Republican on Yahoo Answers.

WOW.

What exactly is the definition of…freedom? What makes America more of a free nation than other countries? Are you free from obnoxious, greedy lawyers and prosecutors? Are you free from federal agents that are trained not to even trust their own people? Are you free from corporate tyranny?
What are some other funny Republican myths?

Here’s one I heard: "It is easy to get out of poverty in America compared to China, where it could take 10 generations!"

HAHAHAAHAH!
I am reading some ridiculous answers on here, ridiculous.

WHAT….is that not true???
look at extreme dictatorship in africa…billions in aid are sent, but those in need still starve.

How might freedom of assembly conflict with individual rights and freedoms? —->>>10 POINTS<<<—- to 1st one?

Sir, I agree to this Constitution, with all its Faults, if they are such; because I think a General Government necessary for us, and there is no Form of Government but what may be a Blessing to the People if well administered; and I believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a Course of Years, and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become so corrupted as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other.

status and freedom at home and school?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

What about it?!?

To be honest, I don’t really understand what it is you’re trying to ask!

> My status at home: I’m the fourth of nine kids; the second oldest of five girls.

> Freedom at home: Well, our backyard covers 1,890,000 acres; I reckon that constitutes a fair bit of freedom for any kid, *grin*

> Status at school? I don’t go to school.

> Freedom at school? I don’t go to school.

Neither I nor any of my siblings ‘do’ school; that’s pretty much what ‘home schooling’ (the title of this board) means!

Freedom of speech: when and how did it start?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

I’m writing a research paper for college assignment; I have some questions about freedom of speech and need some information about it :)

When did it begin? Did it first started since ancient Athens?
Who is the famous personage of freedom of speech during the classic period?
Any suggestion/recommendation in writing a research paper?

Thank you so much!

You can only speak freely when there is no fear of reprisal. Honestly everyone watches what they say even to there own family because maybe they depend on them. So what really is free speech? As far as laws are concerned I feel almost certain we are the first nation (US) to actually pass a law that specifically outlines your freedom of expression. I really do not think there is another out there, and we may not last much longer since the notorious communists within our country want to impose the "Fairness Doctrine" which will launch fines and possibly imprison current Conservative Radio talk show hosts if they fail to adhere to socialist reform and government regulations. As Reagan said in his inaugural address, we are the "last great" fortress of freedom. And we are under siege…

Why is the North Carolina State Constitution violating Atheist’s freedom?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

Atheist city Counselor being called for removal because of NC State Constitution

Article 6
Sec. 8. Disqualifications of office. The following persons shall be disqualified for office:
First, any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God.

This is clearly unconstitutional and violation of freedom of religion

Freedom and religion do not mix. One will destroy the other.

Sadly, in America, religion is winning.

How are American troops in Iraq fighting for our freedom?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

How are the U.S. troops fighting for the freedom of the American people? How are our freedoms being threatened in the first place? How exactly are U.S. soldiers combatting this threat to our freedoms? How will we know when our freedoms are safe and secured? I am not looking for metaphorical answers, or vague, passionate answers, I want neutral facts. Thank you.
If you need me to clarify further I am NOT asking how the U.S. troops are fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people. I am asking for how they are fighting for the freedom of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
I find it interesting how difficult it is to supply a straightforward answer for this question, yet the talking point of "our soldiers are over there right now fighting for our freedoms" or "right now our soldiers are fighting for your very freedom to speak freely" is used so often, so confidently, and so passionately.

they are not fighting for your freedom… Instead, the American government has started a live of imprisonment for the American people……

How can I report a Yahoo Group that has discriminated me, and took my freedom of speech?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by admin

i have been a member of a yahoo group for a long time now, and i got into an argument with the moderator, because she thought i was bad-mouthering her. i was just stating my opinion, and so did other members of the group. one of the members was removed from the group, and the others that dared to say their opinion about the matter, were put on moderated post, and the moderator won’t approve any of their messages, no matter of the content. so we decided we want to report the group, for discrimination, for taking our right to an opinion and for taking our freedom of speech.

nothing you can do and Yahoo wont get involved. the moderator isn’t violating any TOS terms and in fact, this goes on in many groups and moderators have the option/ right to put members on moderated posts and not approve them. they can also ban you if they wanted.
there is no freedom of speech or discrimination- which discrimination you’d need a lawyer, not Yahoo.
sorry, try to get along with everyone or find another group
