great quote, you wont get to many people in this section to agree, the military does a great job a brainwashing or misinforming, there members, its a sad day when a soldier in iraq or Afghanistan, actually believes he or she is there fighting for "our" freedoms

The common people are told a story that they can’t respond too. Most have no vision, so they see the story as fact. Is the press a tool used to keep the masses in alignment? The press is a brainwasher for the moronic. WOW, its so easy to control the common people! Comments?

Well, TV stations like Fox really do brainwash the common person because they don’t know better. they don’t have teachers in school to tell them that this is all wrong, that you can’t believe everything you are told. TV’s all controlled by politicians now, but we now have the internet that is equaliy popular to tell us the truth. Luckly, there are still people who don’t trust everything they hear, which is how there is still some freedom of expression.

High school senior has to do a speech on why kids in school should not have freedom of speech and it has to be documented, no opinions. They already did the pro on the subject, why kids should have freedom of speech in school.

The right to decide how our money is allocated seems to me the basis of a so called democracy. An entire branch of the Government is destined to deal with "money issues". It would be a lot simpler and definately more democaratic if when we file our income tax return, WE DECIDE WHERE that money (earned by us) should go. Why it is not done this way?

Great question! It makes ya think. Though we like to think of America as the "Home of the free", its not. I think there is more evidence that Santa Claus exists. However, the thought of everyone designating where their tax payments go would really bring about some radical changes. For one, the "rich" do not pay the same amount of taxes (per total earnings) as the middle class, or poor. If this occurred, totally different issues would take the forefront. Basically, paying your taxes would give you power instead of stress. Imagine totally designating your taxes to education, aids research, or a run down park in your community? Imagine the feelings of ownership, pride, and happiness the average citizen would feel. We would all feel like we could actually make a difference. Wow, it would be like living in a democracy.

the topic is to describe how freedom of speech affects people on the daily life basis in the 21st century

In the U.S., freedom of speech has been wiped out by executive orders and by Homeland Security policy decisions.

I am doing a teach in project for my U.S. History class. My group is the Young Americans for Freedom. I am unsure who YAF protested against as far as the auto industry. If someone could help that would be great.
