What is the quote that Alex Carev says in the episode "Freedom" (Grey’s Anatomy)?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

I’m pretty sure that it’s this episode where he tells Izze about his mom having medical problems and he helped her as a child. Then he says something along the lines of "You’re not a hero for plaing the cards life deals you" or something. Does anyone know what the exact quote is? I’ve looked everywhere!

I seldom watch greys anantomy so I don’t have the exact answer for you but, you can re-watch that episode again at www.tv-video.net. there is a
"freedom" part 1 and part 2. you can read the episode at
www.televisonwithoutpity.com reading it is better then you can see the exact quote. to find out who said it first. you can take that quote to wikipedia and do a search to find out who said it first. or type it into ask.com. I hope this helps.

What were the different ideas of freedom and rights and how did these ideas change?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

So, i have this history homework… and i need some opinions on this question… pleaaaase :) … thank you if you gave me your good opinion on this question… i appreciate it :)

Freedom is the right to act according to ones will without being held up by the power of others. From a philosophical point of view, it can be defined as the capacity to determine your own choices. It can be defined negatively as an absence of subordination, servitude and constraint.

Rights are entitlements or permissions, usually of a legal or moral nature. Rights are of vital importance in the fields of law and ethics, especially theories of justice and deontology.

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

The Democrats will make America the home of the cowards. The world will look at us and say we are weak and afraid to fight for freedom. WE ARE THE SUPER POWER NOW, but that’s all over when run away from Iraq with our tails between our legs.

When are YOU enlisting?

What do you think is more important: safety or freedom of speech?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

I am writing a paper on the Columbine High School shootings and I have to decide which is more important, freedom of speech or safety?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated!
My paper is due tomorrow and I still don’t know which one I’d choose!
:/

Thanks!

I understand your dilemma, I don’t think you can choose. We must have a fair balance between the two ideals in our society. Common sense should be the rule, but people are always going to squawk when they perceive an infringement on their privacy.

At Columbine, however, freedoms are allowed to be limited because the high school situation is not an open democracy. To attend a public high school you are giving up your personal rights to some degree to accept the limitations of the school rules. Taking away a student’s perceived right is the obligation of the school when it comes to safety.

A locker is not a private residence which precludes investigation by the school administration. The administration should fairly follow preset guidelines on such procedures. But they hold the keys as to whether or not to hold regular locker inspections.

And any parent should have some idea what is in their child’s room. If I had seen unexplained locks in my kid’s room, I would demand an accounting. Computers, also, for underage teens should be an open book to their parents. That would end some of the nonsense that is on the internet. Parents are responsible for their child’s actions and can even be prosecuted for teen’s abuses.

Good luck with your paper.

The freedom act state anyone can attend college. So why is the price for school more than what one individual?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

makes in a year, from a job that does not play enough money to attend school. Lets say you save four years of income, which is quite impossible if you own your own transportion own a house C cards and a life, ( you must eat). All this will cost an average of 30,000. Even if you did not have no money going out, you still have to eat have a place to rest your head. In the end school prices raise at a price of 5000.00 to 10,000.00 a year so it will take tens years to save up enough money to go to school with out having to work fulltime to support your way through school. I no school loans and Grants. Grants such a waste of time a 1000.00 for a written letter if that which only one person is allow to cash in on. Loans how do you get a loan without credit. Beside when the goverment finds out that your making 20,000 they only offer you 2500.00 to 3500.00 a year for finance aid. Where do you get the rest another loan great more money to pay back.

Because school is offer to people who really work for it… say for scholarships or what not. They make it very expensive or else everyone can just get a college degree. Also, it is very expensive to keep up a college to pay from building repairs to professor’s salaries. If you look at majority of college’s budgets apx. 80-90% of what you pay for you get back in education services, however few students know of these services and so there is always the complaint of paying to much for to little. It also comes down to the old theory of "survival of the fit" – if you have the $ you can go or if you work your ass off you can go, no lazy people apply.

Why are questions about the good aspects of communism removed from this website? Is this the american freedom?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

Is this the western, capitalist freedom?
Here other opinions, leftist opinions are opressed!
But we will gon on: Long live the CP of the USA (cpusa.org)
Long live the soviet union!
Long live all leftist and communist fighters all over the world!
No more capitalism!

You should allways be carefull with all "-isms". If you start to believe in complex ideas you can become obsessed with it. You should allways deal ideas from other people critically. This does apply to communism AND capitalism. Both have good and bad sides. My grandma growed up in Soviet Union, my grandpa was in Hitlerjugend and I lived in GDR, I know, what I´m talking about.

By the way: I can imagine, that good aspects of communism are removed from this website. It´s because a lot of americans don´t deal things critically, especially what goverments propaganda is telling them.

Sorry for my english

Gruß Miez

@ Sean G: please, learn German or just keep writing in English, okay?

Britain to have the best freedom of speech in the world, but its illegal to have groups like the kkk?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

Don’t judge me to quickly, i never will be a member of the kkk or nazi group (EVER) I judge people on personality not, pathetic things like skin. But my question is why is are freedom of speech not like Americas where you can express strong views, but here its illegal. Is Britain losing its freedom of speech? Take what happened with the protesting about the bankers not so long. They were not allowed complete movement to express there views.

Every country has to draw the line somewhere, although we do have a group called the BNP (British National Party it stands for, although there’s noting ‘British’ about it really), which is like the Nazi party and the KKK rolled into one. A very strange bunch of people indeed.
