How come some liberals seem to think that "freedom of speech" does not apply to conservatives?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

A few anti-war protesters attempted to deny John McCain’s freedom of speech, by disrupting his acceptance address at the RNC.

Don’t these people believe in free speech for ALL Americans — including those whose opinions are different from their own?

I don’t recall this kind of thing being doen during Obama’s acceptance speech.

And please, none of this "they were only exercising their own free speech" garbage.

Exercising one’s rights does not mean we are allowed to infringe on someone else’s. That’s what these idiots did.

.

This is why I am changing my vote from Obama to McCain, I was split on them both. But the way the democrats have been acting lately has made me not want to be in the same room as them.

Why do feminists give thumbs down to answers that praise freedom of speech?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

Freedom of speech is one of our most sacred rights. It’s discouraging to see someone mention this fact, and get a bunch of thumbs down from feminists.

Is freedom of speech not valued by feminists?

Is freedom of speech not valued by feminists?

No, it isn’t. It is not on their ideological agenda. But freedom of *feminism* speech is, that’s all that matters to them.

Don’t Liberals understand the meaning of Freedom of Religion and ILLEGAL in the State of Texas?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

Their actions have been adjudicated as ILLEGAL all the way up to the Texas Supreme Court. Now, they want to force these people to give up their Freedom of Religion anyway!
Someone should go to jail over this, do you agree? If not, please explain.
Duh, the court said seizure of the children was illegal, so why haven’t they returned the children?
Liberals in Texas have proven they have no business wielding the power over free people.

You have Freedom of Religion within the rules of the law. I can’t go out and sacrifice animals and just say it was my religion. I don’t think the whole case has been thrown out, and if it has then they basically lied about what the original details involved. Doesn’t matter what your religion is you still can’t marry more then one person, nor can you marry underage people(and not sure about that detail as I haven’t followed the story close enough). What do you expect in Texas though? Look at what happened down there when Clinton was in office and the power tripping Janet Reno was the Attorney General.

Why American government has abnormal paranoia of terrorism that they willing to suspend citizens FREEDOM?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

They was attack on 911, but has this always becoming happening? It’s wonder, US has bring on to themselves. DO not destroy liberty. This is against constitution. They has extreme paranoia! Not all peoples is terrorist, not all is criminals, but peoples want PRIVACY! Peoples do not like being WATCHED. Peoples do not want to be arested without WARRANT because they say wrong thing. NOOOOO!!! Freedom. Why the American government against FREEDOM? Even American citizens says it is OK! Americans, your country is not as good as you think.

Well Olav, let’s look at the Constitution.

Article I Section 9

The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, UNLESS when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.

Hijackers on our soil who would fly civilian aircraft into civilian targets constitutes an invasion and is a threat to public safety.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against UNREASONABLE searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I don’t see a prohibition of all warrant less searches there.

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, EXCEPT in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Notice the exception?

Only a dufus could miss it.

The Constitution has within it the tools to defend liberty from enemies.

And we will use them.

I have an American Standard Freedom 80 Furnance that won’t startup?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

I have an American Standard Freedom 80 Furnance that won’t startup. It sparks in the warm up mode and then shuts down. I have replaced the igniter which fixes the sparking. Me and the kids hage managed to get it lit in the mornings with a match or a lighter… But this is a pain especially on these cold mornings. I am not up to buying a new controller.

Replace the thermocoupler

Which is worse, living a life of wealthy servitude, or living a life of poor freedom?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

Because this is the choice America is going to have to make, should the powers that be ever decide to tell the truth for a change.
I know which one i’d choose.

:)
Curtis, i’ve already chosen.

The syndrome is yours.

Pretty much anyone with a pure heart and pride would choose poor freedom. To be happy and have a LIFE is everything. Think of that song, Livin’ on a Prayer. As long as you hold on, whatever you got, you can make something of it. I will be poor and happy. I am not greedy, I’m not going to fall into that trap. In the past many empires have collapsed because they are not built for the people to make their living, and choose their fate.

Has America any value for life and freedom?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

I have to ask this after seeing on youtube the student in Florida University who was manhanled and tasered by campus police after asking awkward questions at a presidental candidate (kerry) campaign meeting. The student asked questions about vote fixing in the last election and about Bush’s association with the society skull and cross bones. As the young man was wrestled to the ground and screamed in agony as he was tasered Kerry continued to answer questions. No one tried to help him and the news men seemd quite light hearted when reporting this violent and frightening incident?
I had a good look at the video a number of times. I first thought it was set up, a prank, but then watched several news reports. For those that think the tasering is irrelivant I totally disagree. This is a voilation of human rights and an act of torture. One student, 6 police officers, he was handcuffed on the floor and they repeatedly taserd him. If this was in Africa or South America people would be screaming about militant regimes torturing its citizens in public. The fact that some people on this site find the tasering acceptable under the circumstances demonstrates how strongly conditioned people are to accepting the voice of authority, no matter what it says.

Theres no such thing as freedom, there are allways restrictions on what you can do, its just tat there more restrictions in certain countries tat others.

Why and what is the reason when the freedom of an individual is challanged or restricted from some group?
